Assistant Coach, Track and Field

Responsibilities

• Coach the technical and tactical aspects of track and field in practices and competitions, focusing on a specific discipline (e.g., Throws, Jumps, Sprints, or Hurdles)
• Recruit prospective student-athletes in compliance with Middlebury, NESCAC, and NCAA regulations
• Assist the head coach with daily practice preparation and the development of practice plans
• Mentor student-athletes to support their athletic, academic, and personal development
• Perform additional duties as assigned, such as event management, strength and conditioning, or teaching Physical Education classes

Requirements

• Experience competing or coaching at the collegiate level preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
• Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a diverse team
• Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license
