Assistant Coach, Softball

Responsibilities

• Implement coaching strategies and teaching methods to develop student-athlete skills and teamwork
• Analyze team performance and evaluate opponents to develop effective game strategies
• Plan and conduct practices, camps, and clinics in preparation for competition
• Identify and develop recruitment strategies, including conducting recruiting trips and creating promotional materials
• Assist with team budget development, expenditure monitoring, and compliance with university and NCAA regulations
• Support student-athlete academic success by communicating with advising staff and counseling athletes on study skills
• Manage equipment inventory and coordinate video analysis of practices and games
• Perform other duties such as driving passenger vans and assisting with new hire training

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• At least one year of NCAA Division I coaching experience or at least two years of NCAA collegiate coaching experience
• Demonstrated experience in training and instructing athletes
• Demonstrated experience in managing a sports team and program financial operations
• Valid driver's license
• CPR/AED/First Aid certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Three or more years of NCAA collegiate coaching and/or playing experience
• Proven experience with the recruitment of student-athletes
• Demonstrated ability to teach and coach both fundamental and advanced skills
• Specific experience coaching hitting and fielding at the college level
