Assistant Coach, Men's Basketball

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Men’s Basketball Coach in the administration of all aspects of the basketball program
• Develop coaching strategies to maintain a highly competitive NCAA Division I program
• Develop training activities and teaching methods for student-athletes
• Recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes, including assisting with official and unofficial visits
• Coordinate preseason housing, meals, travel, and assist with budgetary tasks
• Act as a liaison with marketing, promotions, facilities, equipment management, compliance, and student services
• Perform other tasks as assigned to support the program's success

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• 1-2 years of demonstrated college playing and/or coaching experience in Men's Basketball
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, alumni, boosters, and administrative staff
• Commitment to the academic goals of Stetson University and adherence to NCAA and ASUN Conference regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree
• Proven ability to lead with integrity and positively influence the lives of student-athletes
• Superb organizational skills to effectively manage program administrative tasks
