Assistant City Solicitor or Deputy City Solicitor

Responsibilities

• Represent the Department of Aviation in matters relating to the operation and development of Philadelphia International and Northeast Philadelphia airports
• Structure, negotiate, and draft complex contracts including leases, licenses, and grant agreements
• Interface with City departments such as Risk, Tax, Finance, and the Office of Sustainability
• Review and analyze Federal, State, and City laws affecting airport operations
• Provide counsel on public safety, national security, commercial development, and land use

Requirements

• Law degree from an ABA accredited law school
• Member in good standing of the Pennsylvania Bar or eligible for admission by reciprocity
• Assistant level: 1+ years of relevant legal experience
• Deputy level: 4+ years of relevant legal experience
• Strong legal analytical, drafting, and negotiating skills
• Ability to reside within the City of Philadelphia within six months of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in administrative or civil litigation/claims
• Familiarity with airport business and related commercial transactions
• Knowledge of FAA and TSA regulations
• Experience with transactional or administrative law
