About the role

Responsibilities

  • Litigate dependency cases in Family Court via bench trials
  • Litigate permanency hearings for adjudicated dependent children
  • Litigate termination of parental rights and adoption cases
  • Represent DHS at the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Bureau of Hearings and Appeals
  • Prepare DHS files for review by parents, counsel, and other parties
  • Litigate motions to quash subpoenas for DHS records
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
  • Research and analyze complex legal issues

Requirements

  • Law degree from an ABA accredited law school
  • Member in good standing of the Pennsylvania Bar or eligible for admission by reciprocity
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent communication and courtroom presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year or more of relevant experience within a legal setting
