Assistant City Prosecutor

Responsibilities

• Prepare for and execute the prosecution of violations, misdemeanors, and felonies
• Review case merits with investigating officers and advise on charging options
• Prepare, file, and negotiate plea bargains and charging documents
• Conduct criminal arraignments, probable cause hearings, and pre-trial hearings
• Prepare witnesses, experts, and victims for trial proceedings
• Conduct trials and initiate interlocutory appeals when necessary
• Perform sentencing arguments and submit post-trial pleadings
• Coordinate with the County Attorney, State Attorney General, and federal agencies
• Provide legal training for law enforcement personnel and assist with policy development
• Manage case files and enter information into the prosecutor database

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate (JD)
• At least 3 years of prosecution experience
• Proven experience in litigation through the trial and appellate levels
• Active membership in the State Bar Association
• Valid NH Driver's License
