Assistant Chief Steward

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising daily stewarding operations and ensuring smooth workflow
• Ensure kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas are cleaned and sanitized according to standards
• Monitor availability of kitchen utensils, equipment, and stewarding supplies
• Supervise and coordinate the stewarding team, assigning duties and monitoring performance
• Assist in training and coaching staff on hygiene, safety, and operational procedures
• Support inventory control and maintain proper stock levels of cleaning materials
• Assist in controlling departmental costs and minimizing waste
• Coordinate with Kitchen and Food & Beverage teams for smooth service
• Ensure compliance with hotel policies, hygiene standards, and health and safety regulations
• Prepare required reports and follow up on maintenance issues
• Act on behalf of the Chief Steward during their absence

Requirements

• Proven experience in Kitchen and Stewarding operations
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills
• Knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment
• High level of personal integrity and professionalism
