Assistant Chemist

Responsibilities

• Perform chemical and physical testing of samples submitted to SORA Laboratories
• Manage the receipt, compositing, and organization of laboratory samples
• Render pass/fail dispositions based on testing results
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and instrumentation
• Record and peer-review analytical and calibration work in accordance with GMP standards
• Maintain chemical and reagent stocks and ensure laboratory facilities are clean and organized
• Handle and dispose of hazardous waste according to safety regulations

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field
• Proficiency with analytical laboratory glassware, equipment, and instrumentation
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standard operating procedures (SOPs)
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work independently in an organized and reliable manner
• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays when necessary
