Assistant Buyer

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with category teams to evaluate, curate, promote, and grow brands within the Beauty, Bath & Personal Care category
• Negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing, marketing budgets, and favorable payment terms for low/mid-volume accounts
• Partner with Buyers to source and onboard new suppliers and products aligned with market trends and team objectives
• Maintain and update supplier and product databases, including cost, pricing, and product adjustments
• Coordinate with Inventory Management and Planning teams to manage inventory turns, order cycles, and supply chain practices
• Support promotional co-op activities in conjunction with the Marketing team
• Utilize reports to perform in-depth analysis of category successes and challenges

Requirements

• Minimum of two years of progressive experience in buying or a directly related role
• Developing negotiating and professional communication skills
• Strong analytical, data management, and mathematical abilities with an understanding of retail pricing
• Excellent organizational and project management skills with high attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an e-commerce environment
• Background in Supplements, Beauty/Personal Care, or Natural Products
• Proficiency with Google Business Suite
• Experience with WMS, EDI, SAP, Asana, or Tableau
