Assistant Buyer

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with category teams to evaluate, curate, and grow brands within the Beauty, Bath & Personal Care category
• Negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing, marketing budgets, and favorable payment terms for low/mid-volume accounts
• Partner with Buyers to source and onboard new suppliers and products aligned with market trends
• Maintain and update cost, pricing, and product databases to ensure desired margins and mark-ups
• Coordinate with Inventory Management and Planning teams to manage inventory turns and order cycles
• Create and utilize reports to perform in-depth analysis of category performance and challenges
• Support promotional co-op activities in conjunction with the Marketing team

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in buying or a directly related role
• Strong mathematical skills with an understanding of retail pricing concepts
• Developing negotiating, analytical, and data management abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks under deadlines
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Merchandising, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an e-commerce environment
• Background in Supplements, Beauty/Personal Care, or Natural Products
• Proficiency with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms)
• Experience with WMS, EDI, SAP, Asana, or Tableau
