Assistant Athletic Trainer

Responsibilities

• Provide athletic health care for intercollegiate athletics, including the prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of injuries.
• Perform clinical evaluation, diagnosis, immediate emergency care, and treatment for student-athletes.
• Administer therapeutic techniques under the direction of the team physician.
• Maintain detailed written and electronic documentation of injuries, treatments, and progress notes.
• Coordinate pre-practice and pre-contest preparations and provide on-site presence during practices and contests.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, coaches, and strength and conditioning staff regarding athlete health and return-to-play decisions.
• Manage annual medical paperwork necessary for athletic eligibility.
• Assist in the daily operations of the Sports Medicine Department.

Requirements

• BOC Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC).
• Massachusetts State License in Athletic Training.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to travel with athletic teams to away contests.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
• 1+ years of experience working within an NCAA Intercollegiate sports medicine department.
