Assistant Athletic Trainer

Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate student-athletes at all home sporting events, both on- and off-campus.
• Assess injuries, deliver appropriate care, and evaluate readiness for play.
• Serve as a first responder and refer student-athletes to physicians as necessary.
• Provide physical therapy and develop rehabilitation programs for student-athletes.
• Maintain accurate student-athlete records, including medical reports, clearances, and insurance information.
• Act as a liaison between the athletic department and medical staff or physicians.
• Coordinate physician visits for sport-related injuries and instruct athletes on the use of training equipment.
• Manage training room hours and order necessary supplies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
• NATABOC certification.
• NATA certification.
• Current Georgia State licensure.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience totaling 6 years.
• Ability to comply with NCAA, SIAC, and Morehouse College rules and regulations.
