Assistant Athletic Trainer

Responsibilities

• Assist in the oversight of medical-related aspects for varsity athletics, including evaluation, first aid, and triage of injuries
• Provide direction for one of two training room sites on campus and coordinate staff to meet the needs of 25 varsity programs
• Maintain accurate and updated records of all reportable injuries, treatments, and rehabilitations as ordered by the Team Physician
• Ensure compliance with all NCAA, NCAC, and OSHA guidelines
• Oversee the administration and operation of an Athletic Training Facility while maintaining a safe and clean environment
• Cooperate with coaching staff and other athletic department personnel to support student-athlete success

Requirements

• NATA certification and OTPTAT licensure (required by time of hire)
• Current CPR and First-Aid certification
• Knowledge of the most recent athletic training and rehabilitation standards and techniques
• Ability to communicate with student-athletes and coaches in a positive and professional manner
• Ability to work in-person on campus, including evenings, weekends, and travel with varsity teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a collegiate athletic training setting
• Knowledge of NCAA athletic training portal sites
• Familiarity with multiple sports, including football, soccer, lacrosse, softball, basketball, volleyball, and wrestling
