About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist in the oversight of medical-related aspects for varsity athletics, including evaluation, first aid, and triage of injuries
- Provide direction for one of two training room sites on campus and coordinate staff to meet the needs of 25 varsity programs
- Maintain accurate and updated records of all reportable injuries, treatments, and rehabilitations as ordered by the Team Physician
- Ensure compliance with all NCAA, NCAC, and OSHA guidelines
- Oversee the administration and operation of an Athletic Training Facility while maintaining a safe and clean environment
- Cooperate with coaching staff and other athletic department personnel to support student-athlete success
Requirements
- NATA certification and OTPTAT licensure (required by time of hire)
- Current CPR and First-Aid certification
- Knowledge of the most recent athletic training and rehabilitation standards and techniques
- Ability to communicate with student-athletes and coaches in a positive and professional manner
- Ability to work in-person on campus, including evenings, weekends, and travel with varsity teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a collegiate athletic training setting
- Knowledge of NCAA athletic training portal sites
- Familiarity with multiple sports, including football, soccer, lacrosse, softball, basketball, volleyball, and wrestling
