Assistant Athletic Trainer

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement an approved athletic training program focused on the prevention, care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for intercollegiate student-athletes.
• Advise student-athletes on injury prevention and care protocols.
• Provide athletic training coverage during designated athletic activities and events.
• Maintain appropriate equipment and supplies assigned to the athletic training program.
• Maintain accurate records regarding the examination and physical condition of student-athletes.
• Work under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and receive oversight from the Head Team Physician or Physician Assistant.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from an accredited institution.
• Board of Certification (BOC) certification.
• Eligibility for New Jersey licensure as an athletic trainer upon hire.
• Current First Aid and CPR – professional rescuer certification.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel/overnight trips.
• Ability to lift less than 25 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a certified athletic trainer.
• Experience managing multiple sports as an athletic trainer.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association certification.
