Assistant Athletic Trainer

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Sports Medicine in the prevention, management, and acute and post-acute care of injuries
• Provide rehabilitative therapy for student-athletes as referred by a Team Physician
• Coordinate substance abuse education and screening
• Consult with Strength and Conditioning and coaching staff regarding conditioning programs and facility safety
• Attend all home and away contests and practices for assigned sports
• Assist in pre-season physical assessments for all student-athletes
• Maintain current records management systems, including injury reports and treatment records
• Supervise athletic training facilities

Requirements

• Master’s Degree or one year post-baccalaureate Sports Medicine Fellowship
• First-aid and CPR certification
• NATA member in good standing
• Eligible for licensure in the State of Florida
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain cooperative working relationships
