About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily athletic training clinic operations, including first aid, emergency care, injury evaluation, and rehabilitation
- Provide coverage for practices and home competitions as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer
- Manage student-athlete pre-participation physical examinations and NCAA-mandated medical paperwork
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation
- Provide timely medical referrals and assist with scheduling and transporting student-athletes to appointments
- Assist with insurance billing claims, inventory monitoring, and budget management
- Supervise, train, and evaluate student athletic training aides within the Berea College Labor Program
- Serve as a CAATE Accredited Clinical Preceptor
- Develop and deliver NCAA educational programming to student-athletes and staff
- Maintain professional relationships with coaches, medical professionals, and visiting teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE Accredited Professional Program
- Minimum of one year of relevant athletic training experience
- BOC Certified Athletic Trainer
- Current Kentucky athletic trainer licensure or eligibility for licensure
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification (professional rescuer or healthcare provider level)
- Valid driver’s license
- National Provider Identification Number (NPI)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a collegiate athletic setting
- Experience with teaching or supervision of students
- Familiarity with NCAA Division III philosophy
- Experience with SportsWare Online electronic medical records system
