About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee academic support strategies for assigned teams and student-athletes to support retention and degree completion.
  • Lead and manage the Department’s Mental Health and Wellness Program, including strategic planning and budget oversight.
  • Serve as a case manager within the University’s Care Team to support student-athletes facing mental health challenges or resource insecurity.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive student-athlete development program aligned with NCAA requirements and the University mission.
  • Supervise and develop a team of student employees serving as peer academic mentors.
  • Collaborate with campus partners such as the Shepard Academic Resource Center and the Health & Counseling Center to integrate support services.
  • Design and deliver credit-bearing curriculum focused on student-athlete success and transition readiness.
  • Support the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) through regular meetings and community engagement activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in education, counseling, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in academic advising, teaching, or working individually with students.
  • Experience in higher education involving mentorship or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience working with student-athletes within an intercollegiate athletic department.
  • Experience with budget and fiscal management.
