Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for all Sports Medicine and Athletic Training operations
• Administer and oversee the care, prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries for all student-athletes
• Oversee insurance coverage, professional and student staffing, budgeting, and NCAA compliance
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and emergency action plans for all practice and competition venues
• Manage athletic training staff and student workers
• Coordinate the purchasing and use of equipment and supplies for the athletic training facility
• Support the holistic development of student-athletes, focusing on physical and mental wellness
• Serve as a member of the Athletic Department leadership team and participate in campus-wide committees

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Athletic Training or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in athletic training
• NATA Board of Certification
• Eligibility for Illinois Licensure
• Knowledge of NCAA regulations and concussion protocols
• Experience with electronic medical records and relevant technologies

• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders including coaches, administrators, and healthcare providers
