About the role
Responsibilities
- Support unit fundraising goals by planning and conducting outreach to cultivate donors and raise money.
- Manage fundraising efforts including annual giving, major gift development, and planned gift identification.
- Execute face-to-face solicitations and manage a portfolio of donors to meet specific annual fundraising targets.
- Develop and submit compelling gift proposals to prospective donors.
- Travel extensively within Washington State, the Pacific Northwest, and elsewhere to engage constituents.
- Perform evening and weekend work as required for donor engagement and events.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 5-6 years of progressively responsible relevant experience.
- 3-4 years of full-time fundraising experience.
- Demonstrated success in proposal writing and submission.
- Proven ability to plan and execute fund drives or projects from conception to realization.
- Strong interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining internal and external relationships.
- Ability to cultivate, develop, and steward donor relationships.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet departmental driving standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience closing major gifts of $100,000 to $250,000 or higher.
- Experience engaging faculty and translating research into layman's terms for donors.
- Experience articulating athletic department or higher education philanthropic priorities.
- Proficiency with alumni, donor, or ticket database applications.
- Advanced degree in a related field.
