Assistant Athletic Director, Development

Responsibilities

• Support unit fundraising goals by planning and conducting outreach to cultivate donors and raise money.
• Manage fundraising efforts including annual giving, major gift development, and planned gift identification.
• Execute face-to-face solicitations and manage a portfolio of donors to meet specific annual fundraising targets.
• Develop and submit compelling gift proposals to prospective donors.
• Travel extensively within Washington State, the Pacific Northwest, and elsewhere to engage constituents.
• Perform evening and weekend work as required for donor engagement and events.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 5-6 years of progressively responsible relevant experience.
• 3-4 years of full-time fundraising experience.
• Demonstrated success in proposal writing and submission.
• Proven ability to plan and execute fund drives or projects from conception to realization.
• Strong interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining internal and external relationships.
• Ability to cultivate, develop, and steward donor relationships.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet departmental driving standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience closing major gifts of $100,000 to $250,000 or higher.
• Experience engaging faculty and translating research into layman's terms for donors.
• Experience articulating athletic department or higher education philanthropic priorities.
• Proficiency with alumni, donor, or ticket database applications.
• Advanced degree in a related field.
