About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide didactic education and classroom teaching for the Physician Assistant Program
  • Engage in scholarship and professional service (minimum 30% of workload)
  • Advise and mentor students, coordinate courses, and participate in student assessment
  • Develop student objectives and participate in lab sessions
  • Perform clinical site visits and assist with clinical site evaluations
  • Participate in the ARC-PA continuing accreditation process and admissions process
  • Contribute to department meetings, college committees, and professional organizations

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Master's degree in PA studies or a related discipline
  • Current NCCPA certification
  • California state licensure (or eligibility for licensure)
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Physician Assistant
  • Minimum of 1 year of academic experience in Physician Assistant education

Preferred Qualifications

  • DMSc, PhD, DHSc, or equivalent terminal degree
  • 5 or more years of experience in Physician Assistant education
  • Proficiency in Medical Spanish
  • Advanced computer skills, specifically MS Office Suite
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting
