Assistant/Associate Professor of Speech-Language Pathology

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in speech-language pathology using multiple modalities, including face-to-face and online instruction
• Maintain an active research agenda, including scholarly publications and/or grant activity
• Provide clinical supervision for students engaged in practicum experiences
• Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
• Contribute to curriculum development, program growth, and accreditation efforts
• Participate in service activities at the department, university, professional, and community levels
• Support student recruitment and engagement initiatives

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology or a closely related field (e.g., Psychology, Linguistic Sciences); degree must be completed prior to appointment
• Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
• Eligibility for licensure in the state of Louisiana
• At least nine months of full-time clinical experience after obtaining the CCC-SLP
• Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative academic environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in child and/or adolescent language disorders, literacy, developmental disabilities, speech sound disorders, phonology, disorders of rhythm, or complex communication
• Experience teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level
• Proven record of scholarly publications or potential for sustained research productivity
• Experience with grant writing or managing funded research
• Commitment to innovative and effective teaching practices
