About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in speech-language pathology using multiple modalities, including face-to-face and online instruction
- Maintain an active research agenda, including scholarly publications and/or grant activity
- Provide clinical supervision for students engaged in practicum experiences
- Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
- Contribute to curriculum development, program growth, and accreditation efforts
- Participate in service activities at the department, university, professional, and community levels
- Support student recruitment and engagement initiatives
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology or a closely related field (e.g., Psychology, Linguistic Sciences); degree must be completed prior to appointment
- Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Eligibility for licensure in the state of Louisiana
- At least nine months of full-time clinical experience after obtaining the CCC-SLP
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative academic environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in child and/or adolescent language disorders, literacy, developmental disabilities, speech sound disorders, phonology, disorders of rhythm, or complex communication
- Experience teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level
- Proven record of scholarly publications or potential for sustained research productivity
- Experience with grant writing or managing funded research
- Commitment to innovative and effective teaching practices
