About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Journalism, including core reporting, writing, and media ethics
  • Instruct students on advanced storytelling techniques using audio, video, photography, data, and social media
  • Establish a successful record of academic scholarship in journalism or journalism education
  • Produce industry-related professional output
  • Participate in departmental, school, and university service and committee work
  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive academic community

Requirements

  • Terminal degree or doctorate in journalism, communication, or a related field
  • Professional experience in journalism
  • Demonstrated teaching ability
  • Excellent digital communication and writing skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with emerging media and digital tools
  • Ability to expand or deepen journalism programming to reflect current industry needs
