Assistant/Associate/Professor of Food Animal Medicine & Surgery

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and surgical case management for food animals, including beef cattle, small ruminants, dairy cattle, swine, camelids, and cervids.
• Deliver clinical instruction to professional students, graduate students, interns, and residents.
• Participate in scholarly activities, which may include independent research or collaborative investigative projects resulting in peer-reviewed publications (Tenure Track).
• Contribute to the development of Food Animal Health Maintenance teaching programs and didactic/laboratory instruction.
• Provide service to the university and community through on-call, after-hours emergency services and consultation with referring veterinarians.

Requirements

• DVM or equivalent degree.
• Board certification or eligibility in ACVIM, ACVS, ACT, ACVPM, or ABVP.
• Successful completion of an accredited residency training program.
• Ability to lift over 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, reaching, crawling, and climbing.
• For Associate or Full Professor levels, a required number of years of related research, teaching, or clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a clinical or tenure-track faculty role within a veterinary teaching hospital.
• Proven track record of scholarly activity or research in food animal medicine or surgery.
