Assistant/Associate Professor of Exercise Science

Responsibilities

• Teach approximately 24 faculty credit hours per year (typically eight courses) in Exercise Science and related fields
• Provide academic and professional advising and mentoring to undergraduate students
• Engage in institutional service, including committee work and other duties as assigned
• Integrate Christian faith with academic disciplines in a compelling and thoughtful manner
• Support undergraduate research development and practical classroom experiences

Requirements

• Earned graduate degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Nutrition, Physiology, or a related health science field
• Strong Christian faith with a deep commitment to its expression in personal and professional life
• Professional credentials or experience in the health and wellness industry
• Ability to teach core courses such as anatomy and physiology, strength and conditioning, exercise physiology, and nutrition
• Ability to affirm and support the Mission, Vision, and Statement of Faith of Montreat College

Preferred Qualifications

• Terminal degree in a relevant field
• Experience teaching in a Christian higher education setting
• Proven strategies or experience for mentoring undergraduate-level research
• Ability to collaborate interdisciplinary across the health science area
