Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Science

Responsibilities

• Teach lower- and upper-level undergraduate computer science courses
• Participate in curriculum development and departmental planning
• Provide academic and career advising to students in the major
• Establish and maintain an active undergraduate research program
• Perform regular scholarly research and publication
• Assist with student recruitment and retention efforts
• Provide service to the department, college, and professional community

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field
• Ability to teach introductory, intermediate, and upper-level courses
• Knowledge of pedagogy and teaching techniques for underserved populations
• Proficiency in the use of instructional technology
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ABET accreditation requirements
• Familiarity with Canvas Learning Management System
• Proven track record of obtaining funding for research programs
• Experience in mentoring first-time college students
