About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach lower- and upper-level undergraduate computer science courses
- Participate in curriculum development and departmental planning
- Provide academic and career advising to students in the major
- Establish and maintain an active undergraduate research program
- Perform regular scholarly research and publication
- Assist with student recruitment and retention efforts
- Provide service to the department, college, and professional community
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field
- Ability to teach introductory, intermediate, and upper-level courses
- Knowledge of pedagogy and teaching techniques for underserved populations
- Proficiency in the use of instructional technology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ABET accreditation requirements
- Familiarity with Canvas Learning Management System
- Proven track record of obtaining funding for research programs
- Experience in mentoring first-time college students
