Assistant/Associate Professor of Communication

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned Communication courses with a 4/4 teaching load, typically including public speaking and other major-specific courses
• Develop syllabi, assessments, and course materials aligned with institutional guidelines
• Utilize varied teaching methods to promote student learning and success
• Advise and mentor undergraduate students, including supervising those completing internships
• Engage in scholarly research and contribute to curriculum development and program assessment
• Participate in departmental, divisional, and institutional meetings and service activities

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Communication or a closely related discipline
• Proven ability to conduct scholarly research
• Experience in college-level teaching and curriculum development
• Ability to maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and administration

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in film studies, nonverbal communication, intercultural communication, communication ethics, or group/organizational communication
• Demonstrated record of successful teaching experience at the college level
