About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned Communication courses with a 4/4 teaching load, typically including public speaking and other major-specific courses
- Develop syllabi, assessments, and course materials aligned with institutional guidelines
- Utilize varied teaching methods to promote student learning and success
- Advise and mentor undergraduate students, including supervising those completing internships
- Engage in scholarly research and contribute to curriculum development and program assessment
- Participate in departmental, divisional, and institutional meetings and service activities
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Communication or a closely related discipline
- Proven ability to conduct scholarly research
- Experience in college-level teaching and curriculum development
- Ability to maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and administration
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in film studies, nonverbal communication, intercultural communication, communication ethics, or group/organizational communication
- Demonstrated record of successful teaching experience at the college level
