About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach lower and upper-level biology lecture and laboratory courses, including general biology, microbiology, anatomy, and molecular biology
- Establish and maintain an active, externally-funded undergraduate research program
- Participate in curriculum development and contribute to the department’s strategic growth
- Advise students and hold regular office hours to support academic success
- Provide service to the department, college, community, and professional organizations
- Design and implement new coursework, such as Pathophysiology, to support health career pathways
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field
- Ability to teach undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses
- Proven ability to establish and lead an undergraduate research program
- Valid work authorization at the time of hire
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds and underserved populations
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in molecular and cellular biology, neuroscience, developmental biology, ecology, bioinformatics, or evolutionary biology
- Experience teaching first-generation college students
- Established research agenda and track record of securing funding (for Associate Professor rank)
