Assistant/Associate Professor of Biology

Responsibilities

• Teach lower and upper-level biology lecture and laboratory courses, including general biology, microbiology, anatomy, and molecular biology
• Establish and maintain an active, externally-funded undergraduate research program
• Participate in curriculum development and contribute to the department’s strategic growth
• Advise students and hold regular office hours to support academic success
• Provide service to the department, college, community, and professional organizations
• Design and implement new coursework, such as Pathophysiology, to support health career pathways

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field
• Ability to teach undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses
• Proven ability to establish and lead an undergraduate research program
• Valid work authorization at the time of hire
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgrounds and underserved populations

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in molecular and cellular biology, neuroscience, developmental biology, ecology, bioinformatics, or evolutionary biology
• Experience teaching first-generation college students
• Established research agenda and track record of securing funding (for Associate Professor rank)
