About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach OTD program content in both didactic and clinical settings
  • Conduct research, creative activities, and scholarly work to support promotion and rank
  • Contribute to curriculum development and interprofessional education
  • Advise students and participate in simulation-based learning
  • Assist with student and part-time faculty orientation
  • Support accreditation preparation activities and participate in university committees
  • Engage in service to the University and the professional community

Requirements

  • Terminal degree (PP-OTD, PhD, or EdD) from an accredited university
  • NBCOT certification as an OTR (Registered Occupational Therapist)
  • Current California Occupational Therapist license
  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in a doctoral-level occupational therapy program
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, research, and supervision of graduate projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA)
  • Experience with ACOTE accreditation standards
  • 10+ years of experience teaching entry-level occupational therapy content
  • Experience mentoring graduate student research or capstone projects
  • Demonstrated experience with simulation, AI, VR/AR, or innovative teaching modalities
  • Experience advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting
  • Clinical practice experience and experience supervising Fieldwork Level II students
