About the role
Responsibilities
- Participate in classroom, clinical, and laboratory instruction for veterinary students, graduate students, and interns.
- Provide client services to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) with an emphasis on Small Animal Community Practice.
- Supervise and train students and rotating interns in physical examinations, diagnosis, treatment, and general care.
- Lead case-based rounds, small-group didactic sessions, and student performance evaluations.
- Engage in community outreach service activities, including the Mobile Practice service.
- Develop innovative teaching and service programs and maintain professional relationships with referring veterinarians.
- Participate in college and university committees and engage in creative scholarship in small animal clinical medicine.
Requirements
- DVM or equivalent degree.
- Successful completion of a rotating internship program or 3 years of small animal clinical experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a diverse team environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as a team member.
