About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct independent biomedical research in endocrinology and metabolism, aiming for external funding (NIH, private foundations) and publication in high-impact journals.
  • Provide medical supervision and implementation for clinical trials, including safety medical reviews and trial development.
  • Provide clinical coverage within the research unit and participate in on-call duties.
  • Collaborate with other Principal Investigators and participate in professional societies and scholarly activities.
  • Perform service time in a Pennington Biomedical medical clinic as required.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree.
  • 3-5 years of experience post-medical residence.
  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
  • Valid ACLS and BLS certifications.
  • Ability to obtain Louisiana medical licensure and clinical privileges.
  • Strong oral, written communication, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a research setting involving the implementation of clinical trials for investigational drugs or biologics.
  • Board Certification in Endocrinology or Obesity Medicine.
