About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop state-of-the-art approaches for analyzing the robustness of AI systems
- Apply research to understand vulnerabilities and how attackers exploit AI systems
- Reverse engineer malicious code and design new analysis methods and tools
- Evaluate the effectiveness of tools, techniques, and processes developed by the AI security community
- Develop thought models, tools, and datasets to characterize threats to AI systems
- Co-author technical proposals and present findings to DoD sponsors and academic conferences
Requirements
- BS in machine learning, cybersecurity, statistics, or a related discipline
- Experience with Python, C/C++, or low-level programming
- Familiarity with AI/ML software packages such as Numpy, Pytorch, or Tensorflow
- Knowledge of reverse engineering tools like Ghidra or IDA Pro
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical experience in vulnerability research, analysis, disclosure, or mitigation
- Experience developing frameworks or methodologies to evaluate technology robustness
- Strong technical communication skills for explaining complex concepts to non-experts
