About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage and protect transmission corridors by ensuring compliance with asset protection guidelines through site inspections and encroachment resolution.
  • Review and approve technical engineering drawings, including site plans, grading, and utilities, to ensure compliance with NESC and OSHA standards.
  • Negotiate with customers, developers, and legal representatives to resolve encroachment issues and communicate legal rights.
  • Prepare detailed documentation, professional correspondence, and evidence to support potential legal actions, depositions, or court testimony.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, such as DOT and environmental departments, to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor contract resource performance to ensure adherence to safety practices and productivity standards.
  • Mentor and train new employees within the Asset Protection team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Forestry, Engineering, Real Estate, Business, or a related discipline.
  • For Manager level: 7 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • For Senior Manager level: 10 years of related work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and legal easement documents.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the utility industry and working knowledge of how asset protection affects electrical system reliability.
  • Familiarity with GIS databases, mapping, and geo-spatial systems.
  • Project management experience or PMI knowledge.
  • Experience providing depositions or testifying in a courtroom setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
