Asset Protection Cable Locator

Responsibilities

• Respond to all assigned UPC locate requests within 48 hours of ticket creation
• Use specialized locator equipment on job sites to protect underground facilities
• Perform damage investigations related to the electrical system
• Read and interpret circuit and street maps to chart efficient driving routes
• Maintain daily work records and track tickets to completion through the UPC system
• Assist underground crews and communicate critical information to relevant parties
• Perform duties in various weather conditions, including being "on call" for storm duty

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience in Cable Locating, Utility Distribution, or Electrical Network Construction/Maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret circuit and street maps
• Valid Georgia driver's license with a clean driving record
• Physical ability to carry equipment weighing 5-10 lbs on uneven terrain
• Willingness to enter manholes and work in outdoor environments
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Must live within a 50-mile radius of the job location or relocate at own expense within 6 months
