Asset Finance and Leasing Counsel

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate equipment finance agreements, lease agreements, and related asset finance documentation
• Advise clients on equipment financing structures, including secured lending and leasing arrangements
• Support the structuring and documentation of commercial equipment finance transactions across various industries
• Provide legal guidance on credit risk, collateral structures, and security interests
• Work closely with credit, underwriting, operations, and business teams
• Review and negotiate vendor, dealer, and financing program agreements
• Advise on regulatory and compliance considerations applicable to asset finance and leasing activities
• Assist with portfolio management issues, restructurings, amendments, and workout matters

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in asset finance, equipment leasing, or secured lending transactions
• Demonstrated experience in equipment financing transactions and agreement negotiation
• Strong knowledge of secured financing structures and asset-based lending frameworks
• Experience supporting commercial finance transactions involving industrial or capital equipment
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree
• Licensed to practice law in New York
• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience advising industrial companies, equipment manufacturers, or equipment finance providers
• Familiarity with vendor finance programs and dealer financing arrangements
• Experience supporting large equipment portfolios or structured asset finance transactions
• Background working with financial institutions, leasing companies, or captive finance organizations
