Assessment Developer

Responsibilities

• Manage the design and development process for both objective and performance-based assessments, including tracking milestones and timelines.
• Facilitate design and development workshops using industry best practices to ensure assessment validity and reliability.
• Oversee subject matter expert (SME) involvement in the design, development, and review processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects have appropriate resources and to solve content-related issues.
• Develop and implement item- and exam-level scoring guidelines and validate their successful implementation.
• Oversee assessment QA processes, identifying and resolving issues and trends.
• Maintain assessment design standards to ensure integrity and alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and all applicable licenses or certifications.
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Demonstrated subject matter expertise in job-relevant content or practice area.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to give and receive feedback.
• Ability to turn complex concepts into assessable questions and identify biases or errors in items.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Competency Based Education (CBE).
• Project management experience (PMP certification preferred).
• Experience with both objective and performance assessment.
• Experience in online assessment, distance education, or distance learning.
• Experience managing vendor and external resource relationships.
• Terminal degree.
