Assembly Technician Specialist

Responsibilities

• Perform production assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies including modules, boards, panels, and cables
• Work from diagrams, drawings, and blueprints to make initial layouts using hand and power tools
• Conduct continuity checks, quality inspections, and serviceability tests using specified test equipment
• Disassemble, modify, rework, and reassemble experimental or prototype assemblies
• Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures using measuring instruments
• Complete work package documentation in accordance with FAA and repair station manuals
• Submit completed work to Quality Assurance for final inspection and airworthiness certification

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• At least 8 years of experience in assembly, mechanical, electrical, or aircraft structures
• Advanced proficiency in riveting and installation of related hardware
• Ability to use precision instruments and air-powered hand tools
• Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and technical specifications
• Ability to fabricate parts and repair aircraft structures
• Ability to wear a respirator per OSHA regulations
• Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• A&P certification
• Mechanical or electrical experience
• Aircraft structures experience
