About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection and assembly of finished and semi-finished products using sub-assemblies and components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, standard notes, and symbols.
  • Conduct precision inspections using tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and thread gauges.
  • Make acceptance or rejection decisions based on specified tolerances and visual findings (surface finish, nicks, burrs, etc.).
  • Match components like races and load balls to obtain specified diametrical clearance.
  • Install seals, shields, and perform necessary greasing of bearings and assemblies.
  • Package products according to SKF and customer specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of job transactions, data sheets, and setup sheets.
  • Participate in continuous improvement (lean) activities and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proficiency in shop math.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, precision dial gauges).
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior manufacturing or assembly experience.
