Assembly Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize pouch stacking cell assembly processes from post-stacking to sealing
• Lead key processes including electrode alignment, stacking compaction, tab forming, and sealing
• Establish and maintain assembly SOPs, PFMEA, and Control Plans
• Collaborate with R&D to adapt processes for silicon anode expansion characteristics
• Support product scaling from EVT/DVT/PVT to mass production
• Identify yield and cycle time bottlenecks to develop mass production ramp-up plans
• Improve UPH, OEE, and yield during mass production
• Review assembly fixtures, tooling, and automation solutions
• Assist equipment engineers with debugging, validation, and FAT/SAT
• Use 5Why, Fishbone, and DOE to analyze assembly defects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Materials, Automation, Electrochemistry, or related fields
• 3+ years of experience in the lithium battery industry
• At least 2 years of experience in pouch stacking cell assembly processes
• Experience managing full-cycle projects from process development to mass production
• Familiarity with pouch stacking cell structures and assembly control points
• Understanding of process development workflows (DFMEA, PFMEA, CP, SOP)
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and understand assembly tolerances
