About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop plans and work instructions for the handling, manipulation, and integration of complex, novel, and unique SPARC sub-system assemblies
- Collaborate with system design teams to finalize assembly strategies, including methods, safety measures, and custom tooling requirements
- Create and manage assembly work instruction packets and incorporate them into work orders to optimize assembly and testing sequences
- Utilize ERP and MES systems to ensure part traceability is integrated throughout the assembly process
- Manage part movement plans to ensure no interferences occur with other systems during movement and placement
- Solve technical challenges and non-conformances that arise during the assembly process
- Partner with assembly, tooling, and design engineers to improve standardization, efficiency, and safety
Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- 5+ years of technical experience in the integration of complex and large mechanical structures (e.g., aerospace or chemical industries)
- Proven experience in work instruction packet creation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Ability to work in a facility containing industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, strong magnets, high voltage, and cryogenics
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in a related field, metrology, or high-vacuum processes
- Experience with NX CAD software
- Experience with manufacturing management software (ERP/MES)
- Experience with large component lifting (>10 Ton)
