About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and coach the assembly crew to foster a high-performing environment
  • Manage crew PTO and sick time to ensure uninterrupted operations
  • Spearhead material handling and installation of structural and mechanical equipment
  • Review work orders to confirm availability of hardware, components, and in-house parts
  • Oversee product labeling, including company logos, NEMA Ratings, and UL information
  • Coordinate production schedules with managers and department leads
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and quality
  • Maintain organized work areas and accurate parts inventory
  • Act as a flexible floater to backfill production team members when required

Requirements

  • Background leading and coaching a manufacturing team
  • Experience in industrial or heavy manufacturing
  • High level of mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for 8+ hours daily
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to pass a background check and participate in drug and alcohol programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Metal manufacturing experience in a heavy industrial shop
  • Licensed Forklift Operator
  • Experience with ERP software (e.g., Infor Visual, Acumatica)
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Workspace
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
  • Electro-mechanical experience
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or 6S
