Assembly/Inspector I

Responsibilities

• Inspect parts, assemblies, products, and materials for quality, defects, and conformance to specifications.
• Use precision measuring instruments including gage blocks, height gages, dial indicators, and bore gages.
• Clean parts prior to inspection to ensure accurate readings.
• Check for irregularities and defects based on engineered drawings and specifications.
• Perform precision hand lapping for gages and parts.
• Assemble components to specification and inspect completed assemblies for fit and function.
• Complete inspection sheets and relay data to the Quality Engineer.
• Participate in process improvement activities and Lean events.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or 3-5 years of related experience/training.
• Proficiency using gage blocks, height gages, dial indicators, and bore gages.
• Demonstrated precision hand lapping skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and specifications.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally.
