About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding and assembly operations on drilling rigs following standard quality assurance methods and safety guidelines
  • Weld components in vertical, horizontal, flat, and overhead positions using various techniques including brazing and tack welding
  • Plan and lay out work from blueprints, drawings, or written specifications
  • Install and connect hydraulic controls, pumps, rams, and other system elements
  • Mount and connect engines, gearboxes, axles, and other power components
  • Set up and adjust welding equipment and use hand and power tools of the trade
  • Detect and report defective materials, faulty operations, or unusual conditions to the supervisor
  • Maintain a clean assembly area and keep accurate work-related records

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a welder
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
  • Proficiency in reading and using blueprints, drawings, and schematics
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical components and their ideal operation
  • Ability to handle moderate physical demands, including lifting up to 30 lbs and climbing ladders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Overall knowledge of the product line
  • Familiarity with manufacturing software such as MFG Pro
  • Basic understanding of troubleshooting principles
