About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform electronic, mechanical, and packaging assembly for medical devices including pacemakers and ICDs in a clean room environment
- Assemble, weld, solder, and x-ray medical devices using microscopes and specialized tools
- Conduct visual inspections and use computerized test equipment to locate and correct defects
- Perform casting and coating functions, including repairing bubbles or voids using syringes and small tools
- Kit, bond, and process medical devices and related parts according to standardized procedures
- Review all device documentation for completeness and accuracy to ensure compliance with FDA regulations
- Maintain a clean, particle-free environment by following required gowning and safety protocols
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years of related assembly experience
- Demonstrated manual dexterity and excellent hand/eye coordination
- Ability to use standard hand tools and precision measuring instruments
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to successfully pass a mandatory reading comprehension pre-employment examination
- Ability to lift up to approximately 25 pounds and work regular overtime as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal training in assembly techniques
- Experience assembling manufactured items in a bio-instruments or bio-devices facility
- Prior experience working in an air-conditioned clean room manufacturing environment with stringent environmental controls
