Assembler I

Responsibilities

• Assemble aerial ladder components and mount them to the chassis
• Mount hydraulic valves, components, and hoses
• Install diamond plate, trim, and small components like rung covers and slide pads
• Mount torque boxes, superstructures, and outrigger structures to the chassis
• Run power cables, harnesses, and electrical components
• Ensure all bolts above ½” are torqued to specific requirements
• Complete pinning of cylinders and assist with various assembly duties

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools
• Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals
• Knowledge of hydraulic valves, pumps, cylinders, and hosing
• Knowledge of 12V and 110V wiring
• Ability to read and understand truck specification documents
• Ability to work in a team environment and follow safety guidelines
• Ability to work under pressure and handle overtime on short notice

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in mobile equipment building or truck assembly
