Assembler I

Responsibilities

• Install various vehicle interior and exterior components and hardware according to specifications
• Assemble subassemblies such as doors, seats, instrument control panels, and steering columns using bolts, screws, and clips
• Seal joints and seams using a caulking gun
• Fasten trim components including door paneling, headliners, carpeting, and molding into position
• Position parts and subassemblies accurately using templates or by reading measurements
• Use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools to assemble units at floor stations

Requirements

• Ability to read and use linear and other measuring devices
• Proficiency in using pneumatic and power tools, such as drills and screw guns
• General knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards
• Ability to stand at a workstation for ten hours a day
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 lbs without assistance
• Ability to work in noisy and dusty conditions and handle/dispose of hazardous waste
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of experience in a related manufacturing environment
