Assembler I

Responsibilities

• Assemble and adjust parts for custom fire apparatus using hand and power tools
• Use power drills, sanders, saws, and grinders to prepare and install components
• Install accessories such as catwalks, steps, grab handles, and running boards
• Read and interpret simple blueprints and follow standard operating procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe work area by following all company safety policies and PPE requirements
• Communicate with department leaders regarding part inventory and restocking needs
• Perform tasks within specific time limits and company quality standards

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and maintain physical stamina for standing, bending, climbing, and crawling
• Proficiency in reading a tape measure
• Ability to understand and follow simple blueprints
• Experience using power tools such as drills, sanders, and saws
• Ability to work in a noisy manufacturing environment
• Willingness to work overtime as needed and undergo cross-training in different departments
