Assembler I

Responsibilities

• Assemble and adjust parts for custom fire apparatus using hand and power tools including end wrenches, drills, and sanders
• Install various accessories and components such as catwalks, steps, grab handles, and running boards
• Perform precision tasks including drilling holes, grinding, sanding, and cutting materials to specific lengths
• Operate hydraulic section lifts and assist with daily electrical functions
• Maintain accurate tracking of parts used for each vehicle and communicate restocking needs to department leaders
• Follow all standard operating procedures, safety protocols, and PPE requirements

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and maintain good physical condition for standing, bending, climbing, and crawling
• Proficiency in reading a tape measure
• Ability to learn and understand simple blueprints
• Experience using various hand and power tools
• Commitment to following strict safety regulations and wearing required PPE (safety glasses, footwear, hardhats)
• Ability to work in a noisy manufacturing environment and work overtime as needed
