ASL Student Intern

Responsibilities

• Provide ASL/English interpretation for classes, workshops, and events
• Shadow professional interpreters and participate in mentorship and feedback sessions
• Collaborate with the Impact & Engagement department to foster a welcoming environment
• Learn and adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct for interpreters
• Participate in team meetings, in-service training, and supervisory sessions
• Maintain a trauma-informed environment of wellbeing

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an ASL/English Interpreter Training Program (associate or bachelor’s level)
• Advanced proficiency in ASL with coursework in interpretation completed or in progress

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in community service, non-profit, or healthcare settings
