Asesor de Licencias y Permisos

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal and regulatory feasibility studies for new points of sale prior to lease signings.
• Process land use licenses, construction permits, alignment, official numbering, and environmental impact assessments.
• Ensure all necessary permits are secured before official store openings.
• Manage a master calendar of expiration dates to prevent any document lapses.
• Process and annually renew operating licenses and special permits for alcohol sales.
• Manage approvals from Civil Protection, fire departments, and health authorities.
• Handle permits for outdoor advertising, including luminous signs and totems.
• Respond immediately to branch inspections, verifications, or attempted closures by authorities.
• Negotiate and resolve legal requirements and draft responses to administrative fines.
• Manage the assigned budget for rights, fees, and processing costs.
• Train zone managers and store leads on presenting legal documentation to inspectors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Law (must be graduated and hold a professional license/cédula).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate permit management, government relations, or administrative law.
• Strong knowledge of the Law of Commercial Establishments (Ley de Establecimientos Mercantiles), construction regulations, and Civil Protection norms.
• Experience in the retail sector (convenience stores, supermarkets, or pharmacies) is highly desirable.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
• Availability for field work (80% field / 20% office).
• High level of negotiation skills, sense of urgency, and ability to work under pressure.
