ASC Success Coach

Responsibilities

• Provide individual coaching appointments and drop-in support to assist students with time management, goal-setting, and academic anxiety.
• Develop and facilitate class visits and workshops on holistic skills such as study strategies, self-organization, and stress management.
• Collaborate with ASC professional staff and campus partners to support specific student populations, including those on academic probation.
• Create supplemental student resources, coaching content, and relevant social media posts.
• Maintain accurate data reporting for all coaching sessions and service efforts.

Requirements

• Must be a current University of La Verne student.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.25.
• Effective communication and active listening skills to help peers construct successful learning habits.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with staff and diverse student populations.
• Strong self-motivation, personal accountability, and dependability.
• Sensitivity to diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous academic support or tutoring experience, particularly with students with documented disabilities.
• Demonstrated leadership experience and active campus involvement.

Benefits

• Flexible work hours (approximately 8–10 hours per week) based on student availability.
• One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked (up to 24 hours per year).

• Competitive hourly rate of $16.90.
